E-commerce SEO Services in Sri Lanka

Online stores have SEO problems other sites don't. These include thousands of near-identical URLs, thin product pages and category pages that never rank. I've run SEO campaigns for e-commerce sites in-house, and I know where stores lose organic traffic.

Where online stores lose organic traffic

  • Category pages that don’t rank. Category pages target your most valuable searches, such as “running shoes Sri Lanka”, but often have no text, weak titles and no internal links.
  • Duplicate and filter URLs. Colour, size and sort filters create thousands of URLs that waste Google’s crawl and split ranking signals.
  • Thin product pages. Manufacturer descriptions copied across dozens of stores give Google no reason to rank yours.
  • Out-of-stock and discontinued products. Deleted pages throw away the links and rankings they earned.
  • Missing product data. No Product schema means no price, availability or review stars in search results.

What I do

  1. Keyword mapping by buying intent. Each category, sub-category and product gets a clear target, so pages don’t compete with each other.
  2. Category page optimisation. Titles, headings, helpful intro and buying-guide content, plus internal links from products and blog posts.
  3. Product page templates. Unique titles, structured specifications, FAQs, reviews and Product, Offer and Review schema.
  4. Faceted navigation control. I decide which filter pages deserve to be indexed, such as “black leather sofas”, and keep the rest out with canonicals and robots rules.
  5. Content that supports sales. Buying guides and comparisons that answer pre-purchase questions and link to the right categories.
  6. Measurement. Organic revenue and conversions in GA4, not just traffic.

Frequently asked questions

Which platforms do you work with?

Shopify, WooCommerce (WordPress) and custom-built stores. The principles are the same, but each platform has its own technical limitations, and I plan around them.

Should I write unique descriptions for every product?

Prioritise. Write unique, helpful copy for your best-selling and highest-margin products and for every category page first. For long-tail products, structured, specific details often beat generic paragraphs.

Can SEO help a new store with no sales history?

Yes, but expect to start with long-tail and category keywords, where competition is lower. Then build towards broader terms as the store earns links and reviews.

Want to know what is holding your site back?

Send me your website and the keywords you want to rank for. I will look at it myself and tell you honestly what I would fix first.
