Local SEO Services in Sri Lanka

When someone nearby searches for what you sell, the three businesses in the map pack get most of the calls. Local SEO is how you become one of them.

How local rankings work

Google ranks local results on three things: relevance (does your business match the search?), distance (how close are you to the searcher?) and prominence (how well known and trusted are you?). You can’t move your shop, so local SEO works on relevance and prominence.

What I do

  • Google Business Profile optimisation. The right primary and secondary categories, services, attributes, business description, photos and posts. Categories alone often decide whether you appear at all.
  • Review strategy. A simple, guideline-safe system for asking real customers for reviews and replying to them. In most Sri Lankan local packs, review count and freshness separate the top three from everyone else.
  • NAP consistency and citations. The same name, address and phone number on your website, profile, Facebook page and the Sri Lankan and international directories that matter. Inconsistent details confuse Google about who you are.
  • Local landing pages. Real pages for the towns or areas you actually serve, written for people in those places. Not copy-paste pages with the city name swapped.
  • Website signals. LocalBusiness schema, an embedded map, location content and internal links that tie your website to your Business Profile.
  • Tracking. Map-pack rankings tracked across your service area, plus calls, direction requests and website clicks from your profile.

Who it suits

Clinics, restaurants, hotels and villas, salons, law firms, contractors, cleaning companies, schools and tuition classes, shops and service businesses. If customers find you by searching “near me” or “in [town]”, local SEO is usually the highest-return place to start.

Frequently asked questions

How long does local SEO take to show results?

Google Business Profile fixes can show movement within weeks. Ranking consistently in the map pack for competitive terms usually takes three to six months of steady reviews, citations and on-site work.

Can I add keywords to my Google Business Profile name?

No. Google's guidelines say the profile name must match your real business name. Keyword-stuffed names can get the profile suspended, and competitors can report them. I build local relevance through categories, services, content and reviews instead.

Do you work with businesses that have no physical shop?

Yes. Service-area businesses, such as cleaners, contractors and consultants, can rank in local results without showing an address. The setup is slightly different, and I handle that.

Want to know what is holding your site back?

Send me your website and the keywords you want to rank for. I will look at it myself and tell you honestly what I would fix first.
